Stories! Part One!

Hello everyone! It's time for your participation once again! I am looking for you to submit some stories. I want to hear your favorite memory regarding pen-palling. That's it! If you aren't comfortable leaving these tales in a comment, feel free to send an e-mail to me at aricigliano@ymail.com and put "TNQDA Good Story" in the subject line. I look forward to hearing from you all!

  1. Not a story really, but a memory. I'm not so much into pen-pals now but I was as a young girl. I LOVED to write letters and had pen-pals all over the place. It was exciting to learn about someone I didn't know then. But that was WAY before the Internet and Facebook and now I have online friends all over the world. Times have certainly changed! But I think if you're not too lazy to write with a pen (like I am!), having pen-pals would be SO much fun!!

    1. I hope I'm doing this write. I didn't mean to reply directly to Darlene's post. Ugh. Anyway:

I met a girl online to start exchanging letters with. We had written back and forth for awhile, and then my birthday came up. I have an early January birthday, and honestly - people forget about it. I was really bummed on my birthday and went to get the mail. I had gotten a package from my penpal. I opened it, and inside there was this gorgeous handmade bracelet. She had made it, and it was truly one of the most insanely detailed pieces of jewelry I have ever seen. It made me cry to know that while people in my family, my friends, everyone had forgotten about my birthday - my penpal remembered. I'm waiting on a letter from her now! <3
